Human Trafficking Survivor Assistance: Removing Negative Credit Information

As a Credit Reporting Agency, we comply with the Debt Bondage Repair Act, allowing survivors of human trafficking to request the removal of negative credit information that resulted from the trafficking.

To request that adverse information be blocked from your credit report under the human trafficking provisions of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), you will need to provide the following information:

  • Your preferred method of contact (phone, email, or mail).
  • Your victim determination documentation (e.g., a self-attestation or documentation confirming you are a victim of human trafficking as defined under the FCRA).
  • Clear identification of the specific adverse item(s) of information on your credit report that you wish to have blocked. Please be as specific as possible.

To help us verify your identity and locate your credit report, please provide as much of the following information as you can:

  • Your full first and last name (including any former names used)
  • Your date of birth
  • Your full Social Security number
  • Your current mailing address and any previous addresses relevant to the negative items
  • A copy of a valid government-issued photo identification (e.g., driver's license, state ID, passport)
  • A copy of a utility bill, bank statement, or insurance statement showing your current name and address (dated within the last few months)
